What is a Grassroots Conservative?
Simply put, a Grassroots Conservative seeks to represent the best interests of the people they were elected to serve rather than the established interests of the political class. They are courageous and humble servants of the people, often inspired by the Almighty and called to the work of saving their community.
Below are some examples of values that qualify a candidate to be Grassroots Rated.
Do's
Prioritize the People over Power. Grassroots Conservatives are loyal to their constituents and the principles of the American founding – not to their own institutional power and access to taxpayer funds and no-bid contracts.
Support Fraud-proof Elections. Grassroots Conservatives advocate for secure voting methods like paper ballots instead of machines, precinct-based voting instead of consolidated voting centers, and citizen-only voting. Additionally, closed primaries ensure that only registered party members decide their nominees, rather than Democrats “crossing over” and voting in Republican primaries.
Limit Government’s Reach. By reducing government spending, cutting regulations, lowering taxes, and eliminating debt, Grassroots Conservatives fight to limit the size and reach of government.
Win with Ideas and Truth. Grassroots Conservatives believe in winning elections by offering better solutions – not by silencing or demeaning political opponents.
Support Fellow Grassroots Candidates. Seeing themselves as part of a broader movement, Grassroots Conservatives actively promote and support like-minded people running for office.
Promote Life and Marriage. Grassroots conservatives believe life and personhood begin at conception. Also, they believe that the union in marriage is between one man and one woman.
Preserve the Special Character of Williamson County. The political class and developers have a lot to gain by drastically increasing zoning, annexing rural county land, and bulldozing farm land & forests. Grassroots conservatives understand that this hyper-development worsens traffic, stresses all infrastructure, and diminishes the unique character and charm of Williamson County.
Don'ts
No Special Interests. Grassroots Conservatives are not funded by powerful lobbyists or outside influences.
Reject Woke Ideologies. Grassroots Conservatives oppose divisive ideologies like DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion), Pride, and the broader “woke” agenda.
Elected officials should serve the citizens, not the political class. It’s time to unite, stay focused, and win!
